Judgement

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
as I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
who made me sputter and gasp--
the thieves, the liars, the sinners,
the alcoholics, the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
who never said anything nice.

Herb, who I always thought
was rotting away in hell,
was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, "What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

And why's everyone so quiet, so somber?
Give me a clue."
"Hush, child," said He, "they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you."

Judge NOT.

for more progress made at my Mom's house

that I've always had a crazy ability to be out of the house and on the road within 5 minutes of waking up in the morning -- I had to do this yesterday when I overslept

for the knowledge that I can lead an AA meeting at 6:30am, 20 minutes after waking up and before my first cup of coffee

that I rarely back myself into a corner, but I know that my HP will be there with me if I do

DON'T CRITICIZE OTHERS. THEY ARE JUST DOING WHAT WE WOULD BE DOING UNDER SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES.

that's some speedy getting ready dAAve! I think I could make it out the door, but I don't think I'd be in any shape to lead a meeting without coffee!!!

I really like the NOT judging theme you have on your post today. The poem rocked and that last quote too!

Reminds me of a reading from the 24 hour book my husband and I refer to. I think it is the May 15th reading. It is in John's car so I can not double check. Thanks for sharing I always need a reminder of this.

when I have to, I can hit the ground running as well.... I am hoping to scrape it together one morning (or two) while in town to hit the 6:30 mtg.

that was a great little poem about not judging!

Dave: c'mon. It's an honest prog, so confess. You led a meeting BEFORE the first coffee? No way!
