I don't much care for the way it looks. I like those icons that set me apart from others.

for another realization -- my entire adult life, until I got sober, centered around my relationships with people who drank. I only knew how to relate to those who drank. Some drank as much as I did, or more. But all my personal friends were drinkers. I didn't know how to connect with sober people. Today, all my relationships center around people who don't drink (except my life partner). I don't know how to relate to inebriated folks.
What I am trying to get across to you is that I do not comprehend how to have a proper social relationship with another human.
for the possibility of one day having some social skills
for a really groovy AA Birthday Night @ Lambda
that when my mind began making up untruths yesterday afternoon, I went to an AA meeting. It provided just the relief I needed, as advertised.
for progress on the home front

yes, drunks have always hung together, simply look on any given street corner in any city. And so we still do, we may be sober but we are still a group of drunks hanging together.
I like the house pictures.
Don't beat yourself up. That's our job.
Once your home is properly staged, you can go sit in your fancy bathroom. Sit apart to set apart...that's my motto.
I hope you painted that yellow bedroom!
I have a friend who makes a living "staging" homes. I think it is a pain in the ass - everything in my house is personal.
I think drunks naturally gravitate towards each other. Drunk or sober. I would prefer the company of a sober drunk over just about anyone.
The ex doesn't know how to have a proper social relationship with another human either, you have that much in common! ha!
Your realizations are much like mine from a recovering codependents point of view as well.
I was always taking care of the drunk or addict( and I did my share of drinking and drugs )but now it's healthy stuff with peeps and I know where to draw the boundaries with people who abuse and drink too much.
It's an amazing journey when we let go isn't it Dave?
{{Thank fucking gawd}}
Happy Monday.

I'm glad that I'm not planning to sell because I'm not going to stage anything. It isn't worth it and can't grasp the concept. Or maybe All the World's a Stage....
