for a life that keeps me as busy as I need to be
that I have no desire to drink or otherwise "check out" even though my emotions have been on a roller coaster lately. But, as I heard in a meeting, I'd rather be on a roller coaster than a merry-go-round.
Part of the reason for that roller coaster is my financial situation. It has rapidly deteriorated and we're making the necessary adjustments. Once again, some old habits (and some not so old) are difficult to break. But it's all do-able.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

I'm sorry about the roller coaster ride, they sometimes suck. But at the end we are always happy we survived. I hear you with the financial stuff - oy.
I hope that the financial stuff will resolve. I hear you on the roller-coaster.
