that I no longer put people on a pedestal. This was a huge problem for me in my last year of drinking, which coincided with my first year in a serious relationship. I put my partner on a pedestal and he fell off. Every day. And he never knew he was on it. Of course, it pissed me off every time he fell.
that my recovery is all about relationships. With everyone I come into contact with.
That my expectations in those relationships are much less than they used to be. I'm talking about the relationship with my partner and with my friends and all the way to the other drivers on the freeway.
