that I woke up sober this morning. Again.
for the benefits of being sober. In the comments, name one of your favorites.
that I don't need to come up with any pearls of wisdom (thank God!) on this blog.
Those who are Awake live in a state of constant amazement.

I'm awake. I'm sober. We could start a band and call it Awake & Sober, Awaking Sober, A Wake of Sobriety.
I am also awake - and amazed.
I love waking with a heart of joy, looking forward to the day. I can hardly imagine that I woke up with sickness and dread for 18 years and did that to myself!
I am grateful my mornings begin with hope and gratitude rather than with a headache, nausea and an "Oh cr*p, why did I do that again?" The best benefit of being sober: I can face the difficulties when life happens and know that this too shall pass.
I'm just so grateful for no more hangovers. Aching head, sour stomach and breath that smells like the cat crawled in and died.
I am sooooo grateful that's done.
While not being the alcoholic, but the crazy child, friend, sidekick of many (Alateen/Alanon woot!) I'm super grateful for being in a state of recovery, can wake up with serenity and to actually HAVE the ability to BE grateful!
Thank you so much for you blog, I need that reminder that well... I can be grateful and it's all thanks to my wonderful program of recovery.
You are one of my favorites!
