Iraqi Traffic Jam

A friend sent this link to me. As I watched it, I realized that it's very similar to many places that I have been. In most (not all, but most) 3rd world countries, this type of driving behavior is normal. It's every man out for himself, with little or no consideration for driving laws.

I live in Houston. This looks kinda like a Saturday afternoon.

that is actually rather scary. it explains why there are so many very weird drivers in this city. now I know why! I have to say that the Iraqi driver I know here does NOT drive like that!

Looks like the Elephant & Castle roundabout at the bottom of Borough High Street. Just around now, as a matter of fact...

That would bring road rage back into my life, I would have to walk or drive with my eyes closed.

Yes, very much like Houston. Also very much like Beijing when I was there a few years ago. Three traffic lanes ... six lines of traffic. Fortunately, no one was going over 5 mph, so any accidents were minor.

Thanks for the Blogger advice, by the way. I'm now asking for some more reader participation on selecting a new BaT image.
