a sleeper

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

for all the people who keep showing up at the meetings I attend; without them, I'd be alone

that sometimes a little effort is all that's required

that I am more aware of those times when I have negative thoughts and can attempt to quell them

for a statement from a friend yesterday at the noon AA meeting ... He was commenting on being arrested last weekend for an outstanding warrant for an unpaid traffic ticket.
He said that the ticket was a consequence of his drinking. The fact that it was unpaid (after 2 years) is a consequence of his alcoholism. BRILLIANT!!

Old age, to the unlearned, is winter; to the learned, it’s harvest time.

That my children and I have had little contact for a long time (years) is a consequence of my drinking.

The fact that we are now communicating on a regular basis ia a consequence of my ever-so-slow recovery in AA!

Yes, dAAve...BRILLIANT!

BRILLIANT is right~ But I am brain dead this AM (no Chai yet) and can't even begin to think of a drinking/alcoholism thingy to add.

I am still here dAAve and it is so cool knowing you are too!

Have a great weekend!

man, i can relate to that. so many things today are a result of my alcoholism. fortunately, though, they're less than they used to be. good morning, dave!

I'm like that cat today. I fell asleep at my desk sitting up, so I guess I can nap anywhere.

That was a great comment by your friend. I am glad that I have become aware of my thoughts and can deal with them as they come.

I love my meeting makers too. They are like family, they truly are.
