hAAlf nAAked thursdAAy

During my 33 year drinking career, there must have been hundreds thousands of times when I fought the craving to pop open a beer.
I would take it from the fridge and set it on the kitchen counter or on my desk. Then I'd contemplate it. I instinctively knew that once opened, my productive day would be finished.
Open it or put it back?
Open it or put it back?

I always opened it.

And today I am grateful you don't even have it in the fridge.
I see you,

Hey Dave....I know exactly what you mean. Toward the end of my drinking career, I would get in the car to go get beer and think "it's still not too late". Same with buying the beer, walking back in my house, and finally sitting down on the couch at home. Once I popped it open though and brought it to my lips, it was too late....my day was over. I was unemployed for a year and a half because of this: once I had that first sip, looking for a job flew out the window. Thanks for a thought provoking post.

Alas, I didn't speak French during this nap....this time I think it was Zulu because I kept making some sort of clucking noise. Perhaps I still have National Geographic on the brain from yesterday.

Love your bald spot, man.

It may be a bit thin there, but definately not a bald spot. A bit numb, too, at times.
