I attended and supported the
AIDS Walk
Houston
yesterday. This annual event raises dollars for more research.
They raised about $700K yesterday.
The weather helped --
70 degrees and sunny.

that I have a tangible concept of a Higher Power
that I go to AA meetings often, both when I feel like it and when I don't
for my sponsor and his sponsor and her sponsor
for the experience, strength and hope of those who come before me
for service and volunteer activity in and out of Alcoholics Anonymous
that I was honored to hear parts of the A.A. stories of 2 longtimers in Alcoholics Anonymous. They both have 31 years sober.

I wish more people understood the concept you mentioned of going to meetings when I feel like it and when I don't.
I learned this early on. I lived my entire life doing "just what I felt like". It's goint to meetings when I don't feel like it, that has really made the biggest difference. I think that's how we first learn to live life on lifes terms. Have a good monday Mr. Dave.

Our AIDS walk is coming up next month. That reminds me that I should register for it!
It never fails that when I force myself to go to a meeting when I don't feel like it, that I hear something I really needed to hear.
Somebody at a meeting said "Just keep going to meetings until you WANT to go to meetings"...I'm with you on this one dAAve...my ass gets to meetings- no matter what!

It is amazing to me to watch newcomers who are "too busy" to go to very many meetings. Years ago I decided that was the way to tell the winners - they are sitting at a meeting every day.
As a PWA (person with AIDS) thanks for attending and participating in the walk... sorry I missed it... I did walk 3 miles yesterday for a children's charity here in Seattle though and will be doing the AIDS walk in Orlando next month... thanks again!!

I just told one of my sponsees that today, go to a meeting especially when you dont feel like it, or too tired, or your show is on. I hope she goes

I can't wait to say "31 days!"
thats awesome on the 700g's. After my son got TB it was amazing to learn that a large number of people with AIDS die from TB.
