Progress

This is the ferry that runs between Trinidad and Tobago each day. The distance is about 50 miles or about 2 1/2 hours.
It holds approximately 200 automobiles and 1000 passengers. The cost is $9 per person each way.

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

for a good 1st step meeting yesterday - I'm grateful that I could not only admit my powerlessness over alcohol but also accept that fact

for an AA newcomer to our early morning meetings who celebrated 10 days sober today on his 54th birthday

that I will not feel the need to be perfect today, but I can be excellent

that a friend at Lambda with many years of recovery under her belt will not be moving away from Houston as she and her family were planning to do; we need her here and obviously, her HP knew that

that I'm a successful quitter (drinking, smoking, etc...)

for some nice shopping therapy yesterday, including a new cell phone. I had the previous phone (my first in sobriety) for 1 1/2 years, longest I've ever had a cell phone. When I was drinking, I had at least 12 phones but was always losing them or they got stolen. In 2002 at the beginning of my last year of drinking, I had 4 phones in a 4-month period (in Morocco).

quitting isn't all that bad after all, huh?? Cell phones can be tuff to hang on to. I got sober before they were in wide use like they are today or I'd have cost myself a fortune losing mine. My thing was ATM cards, I lost ours all the time.

Funny, I hate cell phones and am notorious for not having mine on. But I've never lost the darned thing...

Actually, I just don't like telephones at all...

10 days sober is a pretty cool 54th birthday present.

I was lethal with a skin full of booze and a mobile phone. Or any phone. It always seemed to be a good idea at 4am to work my way through my address book...lol.

I would have sworn that was your second phone, having lost the "Phone call for Dave" ring tone you had on the first one.

I love the "successful quitter" phrase. Some things really do need quitting. I want a t-shirt. *grins*

Just Hi. 10 days and 54. Good for him. And all of us for where ever we are at this age. But our days will never be as precious as 10 days at any age. Thanks for your posting

Temendous Improvement, Hell Ya I dream of that! But I cannot obtain it, for fallen I am realizing it is the way growth goes.

My fall quick yes, but how I have yet to describe the damage and wreckage I have caused in a very short amount of time. My sick mind tried to convince myself I could do better, and play out the sick secret better, how Wrong I was.

Thank you for visting me Dave, it means the world to me. May you continue you beautiful path. For that is what it is :)
