The Ways It Is ...

"I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle."

WINSTON CHURCHILL

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

that my Mom is still alive although her awareness of life around her has somewhat diminished

for a lot of new faces in the noon AA meetings at Lambda; yesterday there must have been about 8 people I did not know and that is unusual ...

that I am just a little better at introducing myself to newcomers/new faces than I once was; I am intimidated by people I don't know, forgetting that they are usually much more scared and/or intimidated than I am

for the first time in about 2 years, I have no concrete plans of things that must be accomplished this week; it's like being on vacation in retirement (not to be confused with leisure travel in retirement because that is when I actually have plans) LOL

If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.

Hi Daave....it's great to be a part of a "growing" meeting isn't it?

Did you notice how many slips in the basket that needed to be signed? 8. Whatever gets you there, right?

It is hard being a newcomer and going to different groups. I go to several different groups because there aren't that many meetings by any one group. I meet new people and through regular attendance have gotten to know them. At first though, it felt a bit strange.
