todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful
that I attended a very spiritual (IMHO) AA birthday night @ Lambda Center. Here we celebrate annual milestones once monthly as a Center. Lambda is host to about 40 AA meetings each week. This month, my friend Scott W (Attitude of Gratitude) celebrated his sixth year of continuous sobriety. I paid him handsomely to give yours truly a big shout-out during his short acceptance talk. NOT!!
that I had the honor and privilege to listen to a sponsee's 5th Step over the weekend. It never ceases to amaze me what a moving experience this can be.
that I am on the Houston Roundup Committee and had the privilege to preview the annual play that will be performed next weekend in front of about 300 recovery peeps.

Scott, I did mention our Dave. What I related was that he and I were cruising in his old Cadillac, windows down, cool evening breeze blowing in through the windows and we were marveling at how things just keep getting better and better. It is simply mysterious to us.
The friendship with Daave and Scott W. is a wonderful thing that is even more wonderful to behold in person.

Birthday meetings are always so spiritual for me too! It's proof of God's miracles and that AA works if we work it. Took me a minute, but loved the cartoon!

When I come to Houston, I'm sitting in the middle in your Cadillac, between you & Scott.
I think that the Fifth Step truly is amazing. I feel the very presence of God so near.

i'd love to some good ol' texan birthday celebrations. someone told me y'all call them anniversaries and not birthdays, but maybe that was a different part of texas
