Welcome to Friday

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

that I was asked to help a friend through the AA steps; this will be good for both of us

for a reminder from Mary Christine of how much I always felt at home whenever and wherever I walked into a bar.
And I've been in thousands of them.

that I've studied the AA traditions with my sponsor and in meetings as well. Knowledge of how the traditions came to be what they are today is pretty good AA history, for those who are interested. This is for sure though; without those traditions in place, Alcoholics Anonymous would not exist.
We would have imploded decades ago.

that I still take interest in Lambda Center fundraising and service work in general

Experience is not what happens to a man.
It is what a man does with what happens to him.

Really good--even though brief--study of tradition history is in book LANGUAGE OF THE HEART, Bill W's own Grapevine writings from early until late...

dAAAve, your posts are always useful, informative, and quick reads. Good shit.

But, was Mary ever in Mary's bar here? I doubt it.

I always felt at home in a bar too. The Traditions are always facinating to study, when you realize the significance they play in our survival. I wish everyone in AA would study them :o)

we do an anual traditions workshop put on by the PI commitee every December! I know last year a lot of people from my home group got very excited about the traditions! I hope it happens again this year!

I think that the traditions help so much with relationships with others as well as how we relate at meetings.
