Acceptance. Always.

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

that this paragraph means so much to me that I'm taking the time to type it out this morning.  It's from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.

"And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today.  When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation -- some fact of my life -- unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment.  Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God's world by mistake.  Until I could accept my alcoholism, I could not stay sober; unless I accept life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy.  I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and in my attitudes."

Pretty much, when I can remember this concept, I'm a happy fella no matter what's going on.

The grass is not always greener
on the other side of the fence.
Fences have nothing to do with it.
The grass is greenest where it is watered.
When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.

Good morning David.

That is one of the most profound pieces in the book - so much said in so few words and a lifetime of learning once you grasp its meaning.

What car is that?! Boy that'd turn a few heads in my town :-)

And this one--the grass has to be mowed on the other side of the fence.

Great quote from the BB.
