The experience.

Boy George - then and now

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

for a spiritual experience that came just when it was supposed to.  "Quite often friends of the newcomer are aware of the difference long before he is himself.  He finally realizes that he has undergone a profound alteration in his reaction to life; that such a change could hardly have been brought about by himself alone."

If you know me, you know I am totally passionate about my gratitude for being sober AND in recovery.  This morning, however, I have written enough.

Deal with it.  (LOL)

A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.

what a pertinant post - when I was 20/21 Boy George was the king of pop - whatever he did was golddust and whilst I was never into that "style" I have always loved his voice - the lad can sing...

I remember not that long after those days though seeing an interview with him backstage at some big event with Marilyn having to hold him up and he was incomprehensible - whatever he was on wasn't doing him any favours. Soon the lurid tales followed - luckily he wasn't one of those that didn't get out alive.

I turn 50 in a few months too and the Ali quote is interesting... I'll ponder and journal on that - although it is I can say instantly true... I still feel too much though that I am/have wasted much of my life I'm afraid

I'm glad that I didn't get beat up in the body during those 20 years. The mind is still pretty sharp, but no way do I feel as if I am 20. Too much of the world has happened since I was 20.
