that I have the freedom to do things differently than I did during my drinking days. And I take advantage of those freedoms.

The picnic sounds wonderful. We only have one once a year. Maybe that was your annual picnic? It seems like your group does a lot of stuff and is very healthy and strong.
Love that quote - I watched a great documentary series about him after visiting Boston many times and seeing stuff about him. A man who without a doubt shaped the USA as it developed. I must remember that quote at some point when needed... it does point to the fact we can all be leaders, it isn't down to rank and prestige... now there's an AA twist on it too... :-)
Poor old Nick. The years have not been kind.
