The day that changed the world ...

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

for the freedoms that sobriety and recovery offer me

for the ability to remember (some things)

that I was in my London office on "that" day, eleven years ago.  Where were you?

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.

I was in my little townhouse, getting ready to move to this house. I woke up and turned on the TV and prayed it was some kind of error in programming. How could this be happening?

And today I am freaked out about it for some reason. Eleven years later I am afraid.

I wish that the solidarity of that day was still with us. Instead we seem more divided than ever.
