The Month of Dennis

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.

For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

that I make the choice NOT to burden myself with the responsibility of ...
... running our government
... disciplining our leaders, both political and religous
... determining what is best for you
... correcting your mistakes
... scheduling your life
... housing, feeding, and clothing the world
... maintaining your sobriety

for 2 of my favorite blogggers who are having some tough days recently and could certainly use a few words of encouragement from YOU!
JJ @ A Reason A Season A Lifetime
Kenny @ Recovery Road

for a fantastic meeting about grieving -- it made me realize how much I am currently grieving over my mother, actually to the point of denial

tha today marks the 13th consecutive year that Dennis R. has remained sober. Dennis may not always be right about everything, but it's not for lack of trying. He's the most passionate person I know for the program of recovery. Happy birthday, Dennis.

for a fun weekend

that I'll be travelling again soon

Thanks for keeping me sober one day at a time. It has added up it appears to a lot of years! Lucky 13 and life has never been better!

Dave, it's always wonderful to hear an alcoholic asking for support for another. So against our nature and so indicative of our growth!

Daave I love your blog for all of its diversity and topics you share here.
I was pleased to read you recognize grief with your Mother in this phase of her life.I can relate to that very well as my sisters and I take care of both our aging and ill Grandparents.
It is tough and I have my moments,
then I rememeber to cherish each moment I can with them.
Learning to live one day at a time has given me so so many gifts and cherishing moments with loved one's is really one of the top after cherishing my indaviduality.
took long enough!
I just love the tickles out of you Daave..you share so much positively bright posts here.
Thanks for just being you.

Dear dAAve,
By one of the comments here I can not tell whether or not your Mother has passed on or not. I know she is and has been in an unfortunate condition for a while. I'm so sorry that I haven't asked you about her lately. I am so sorry that you're hurting. Grief is a hard emotion. I'm proud of you for not smoking in your grief.
Pat has been a trouper, so have you and your Sister. Best to all of you dAAve.
