practicing these principles ...

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

for the novelty of being sober and in recovery -- thanks for reminding me of that, Kenny

that we had 42 people celebrating 545 years of sobriety Saturday Night @ Lambda Center

that my head is still in a not-so-comfortable place but drinking alcohol still seems like it would be a terrible way to handle my problems

that my sponsee asked for a ride to a meeting I needed to attend, so we both went

for a consistent internet connection (this is very rare in many countries)

that I have done a makeover (new furniture and lighting) in my dining room and it looks pretty damn good for someone with no designing flair (pix tomorrow maybe)

that, although my self-esteem continues to take a severe hit, I don't need to take a hit to boost my self-esteem

for a reminder from Pam that there is life outside of Dave -- today and every day

Enthusiasm is a kind of faith that has been set on fire.

Daave, Sometimes when I'm in an uncomfortable place...I too stop to realize that drinking will make it so much worse. Isn't it funny how when we were drinking that was so OBVIOUS...but yet it never dawned on us? Love the last quote!

Hola, Dave-Dave-Davey-Dave

I hope you find a better place soon (whatever is bugging you).

That's great news about the legs/arteries. When I start work again, I hope to be off the steroids - I intend to join Gleeson's boxing gym on Tower Bridge Rd. Macho enough and lycra-free. Lycra only looks good on girls, you know. Lmao.

:-)

Dear dAAve,

I can't wait to see what you've done with the decorating. I enjoy that kind of thing, myself.

How are you doing on your art work.

I hope to see what you produce here, soon.

Have a wonderful Monday. Love to you

I really like what you said about how even though your head is not in a good place, drinking doesn't seem like an option. I've had a sinus headache for days, but--hallelujah--it hasn't occurred to me to pick up.

My ego stil takes a regular bashing. I would like to think I ditch the thing altogether at some point in the future. Not yet! but no harm in trying!

I'm glad that you are staying on the right path even though your head goes down an uncertain road sometimes. Mine does too but I know that I will eventually feel much better if I just read, meditate, pray, attend meetings and talk with my sponsor.
