No problems to speak of

"The problem is not that there are problems.
The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem." -- Theodore Rubin

"Problems are good, not bad. Welcome them and become the solution. When you have solved enough problems, people will thank you."
-- Mark Victor Hansen

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

that I have very few problems today

that most of the problems I have today are high-class ones

that someone needed to "vent" about their relationship yesterday in the midday AA meeting; that person has one month in the program, in their mid-20's, and is in an abusive relationship. She does not yet understand that she's most likely going to have to let that person go their own way. Certainly at this point, sobriety must come first, no matter what it may take or look like.
That concept will serve her well for a lifetime.

that my new gym opened yesterday. It's new, spacious, smells good and has brand new equipment.

It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.

So, you sniffed the equipment?

Unfortunately, I don't think most people get the concept that sobriety has to come first.

My "problem" is that I tend to think that because I have problems, I must be doing something wrong.

Thanks for setting me straight Daave!

Gee, I hope that person puts that relationship first, and her sobriety somewhere else on the ladder. She should focus entirely on changing that other person. Really! No, really!

Thanks for reminding me that I'm glad I'm single, especially during my first year of sobriety.

Let us know how the seats smell the next time you sniff them.

I think that a relationship is hard anyway but during the first year of recovery it was very difficult for us. It was like talking a different language. And thinking an entirely different way. Luckily, we made it through the first year and are still working on recovery and us.

I was reading your posts that were tagged "relationship" and the statement you made about the woman could be me. I haven't gotten that through my head yet either. That's something to think about.
