Gettin' It

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

to see the smile on Mom's face yesterday when my nephew and I walked in on her, sorta unexpectedly

that I can pass on some of my life experiences to my nephew and hope that something I say will sink in

to be reminded that we (in recovery) often help others just by being present

that Tradition 3 of AA's Twelve Traditions allowed me to "get it"

that I often stay busy for 8 - 10 hours each day, even though I am retired

that I went to the Astros game yesterday afternoon - a sellout crowd and my boys won

I love the higher powered quote - what a fabulous visual. Retired.... ahhhhh... I'd love to retire now so I am young enough to enjoy every breath of it. Until that is possible I will continue enjoying every breath of my life one day at a time doing as I'm doing.

Take care! Meg

As I tell my 17-year-old nephew: "You should listen to me because I won't bullsh*t you like your parents -- one way or the other. I have no reason, too. I don't care if you like me or don't, and you won't be having my grandchildren."

Hi dAAve. I enjoy the gratitude lists. I might have to join you in that endeavor one of these days....

I guess I am semi retired, only working about 2 months a year. I still don't have enough time in a day to get things done that I start.

hold back the waves... hmmm, reminds me of a time not long after I moved ot Houston, that I thought it would be really great to get stoned, and go swimming at one of the "beaches" in Galveston... something brushed against me in the water (or so I thought) and I practically walked on water getting outta there... thanks for the flAAshbAAck dAAve!

How great it is to touch another human being in a positive way.

Holding back the waves is great. I have heard ...

If you are having trouble believing in a HP go build a bird that can sing, fly and live. When you have done this bring it back to me.
