Boxing Day

Boxing Day, December 26th, is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Europe and countries in the Commonwealth of Nations with a mainly Christian population. It is based on the tradition of giving gifts to the less fortunate members of society. Contemporary Boxing Day in many countries is now a "shopping holiday" associated with after-Christmas sales.

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

that my recovery takes no holidays

that my "recovery program" seems to just kick-in when I least expect it

for a fine gratitude meeting on Christmas Day followed by the food and fellowship of many friends at Lambda Center

that I'm a day older than yesterday and still sober!!

for the lifetime of entertainment given by (Santa Baby) Eartha Kitt, who died Christmas Day (very appropro) at age 81

I'm planning on laying low today, and avoiding the sales. Some bargains aren't worth the cost in Serenity Dollars.

Great gratitude list. And the comment on contemporary boxing day is great.
