You can get there from here ...

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

for a meeting yesterday about forgiveness.  I heard some very intersting takes on this.  For this alkie, forgiveness is no longer an issue.  It happens without conscious thought (almost always).  I can't afford NOT to be forgiving because the result will be a resentment.  I don't want a resentment.  I am learning to deal with it and then just let go.
LET GO!! LET GO!!

that we celebrated January sobriety birthdays at Lambda Center on Saturday.  Typically, the month of January has the most people with sobriety dates.  This year, we had 41 people celebrating with a total of 628 years of being sober.  There were over 150 family and friends on hand to support them.
It was a wonderful night (took about 2.5 hours to hear everyone share).

for gorgeous weather over the weekend.

I went to the annual Houston International Auto Show.  I'll post a few photos during the week.

Since you are the one who has to live with your choices, be sure they are your own.

Something I read in Alanon literature gave me a whole new perspective on forgiveness. To paraphrase, it said, if I don't judge in the first place, there will be nothing to forgive. Sounds like you are doing that - not judging. Awesome.

Those sobriety figures are impressive - whenever someone celebrates a "birthday" it is to me such a testament to the programmes success.

Like the photo - a year or so ago I was in Wales where my son lives and three of them shot past us, all with bits of drab black covering and special UK Trade Plates on - clearly the last proving tests from the factory - there are some spectacular mountain roads in that area... sadly neither of us had a camera handy at the time - typical!

I have had to really get to a place of compassion over the past week so as not to have a resentment boiling with my father-in-law. For now, I am doing okay. I will make direct amends when he allows any of us to see him. Indirect amends have been made.

Thanks for your comment! I don't know how long it was sitting there, but I was inspired to post today.
