that fear may be a mile high and a mile wide, but usually it's just paper thin;
thus, I just have to muster the courage to walk through it
that I heard this yesterday -- it doesn't matter if I believe in God or not. He can do His work without my approval.
for all of you who have preceded me and already discovered the things I need to know
for the few who are able to make it back to the rooms of AA
that I haven't (yet) tested my desire to make it back after a relapse

I felt pretty humble when I realized all of the ways that my HP had been helping me throughout the years, silently, never asking for praise or acknowledgement - while I had been bumbling along thinking I was doing it all on my own.
After the meeting, we all join hands, say the Lord's Prayer and then chant "keep coming back, it works!" And while the others are saying "IF YOU WORK IT!", I quietly say "with or without you."
It works in some many ways. I'm glad that you haven't tested that desire.
And don't test it.
I am working on that fear thing.
