Personal Inventory

It is no easy task to change the thinking of a lifetime, even when I am sure that I want to change. The Tenth Step allows me to be aware of sliding back into faulty thinking. I don't have to abuse myself when it happens -- that doesn't help at all.
By promptly admitting when I am wrong, I am doing what I can to change.

I give thanks for Step Ten's reminder that I need to continue taking personal inventory and making frequent corrections, especially in the areas where I tend to repeat my mistakes.

Step 4 and 5 are about the wreckage of a life time. The 10th step is about cleaning up the wreckage of a much more manageable slice of time. I love that I can fix things now and not five years from now.

yeah dAAve, I feel like if I stay ojn top of the daily stuff with Step 10, I can avoid having to do as many Step 4's. Or well, atleast as many really ugly painful Step 4s. I like to do a thorough self examination about once a yr, retreat time usually....

This was exactly the way I "did" a 10th in the past and sometimes even now always forgetting that it NEVER WORKS. I think it's a Catholic leftover from penance.
