Survival techniques

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

that I made a decision to do something about my drinking (stop) before it was too late

that I rarely have a negative attitude

for all the evidence I see each day of people who have decided to take responsibility for their own well-being

that I went to the SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS SOBER workshop

for Steps 10-12 "the maintenance steps"

that I didn't act out in a negative way this weekend

that former Congressman Mark Foley is being released this week from treatment from alcoholism - nice to know that he's now cured of pedophilia so quickly and neatly. Can't wait for the book.

that the St Louis Cardinals won the World Series and gave a rare championship to the National League

I'd rather be able to face myself in the bathroom mirror than be rich and famous.

I'm going to look around here and see if there is something like that happening. I would love to go to something like that. Have a great Monday.

I think Remy is cool no way beyond cool. I have a small tip for staying sober through the Holidays.... Do it just like every other day of the year don't drink go to meetings, One Day At A Time.

I used to punch bathroom mirrors. Well; mirrors generally. Self-loathing etc, etc.

I dated a guy in France named Remy...I think he was better looking than Remy from Rhode Island but you know how it is with beer goggles. Wine goggles are just as bad...

That mirror thing has always meant a lot to me. I can still picture my "drunk face" and how ashamed I felt. I hope I never lose that memory, b/c it really sucks.
