Been there, done that

I lived in Amsterdam in 1993-94. I'd been there many times before, but quit my job so I could concentrate on my intake program of alcohol and exquisite marijuana.

"We admitted we were powerless over alcohol and our lives had become unmanageable."

Shown above is of one of my daily stops as I made my rounds. There were many similar places that could depend on my business each day. I stayed drunk and stoned during all waking hours and considered myself the luckiest guy in the world.

Yup. That's pretty insane.

I did something similar-ish in the following London postal districts

W1, WC1, WC2, EC1, EC2, N1.

I thought I was cooking, baby.

And now, as a sober man, you KNOW you are the luckiest man alive - along with the other 2+ million of us sober folks!

i used to go to a-dam a lot when i was a young undergratuate studying at the University of Oldenburg which was right on the other side of the German border.

this was back in '92 and i can hardly remember a thing, which is too bad I made a huge priority out of killing brain cells when I was there.

I was back living in Germany after college and never made it back to Hamsterdam (as we called it.)

It would be nice to go back as a grown up whp's not so hell bent on getting fucked up as i used to be.

thanks for the memory daave.
