Action Points

This is not an uncommon sight in West Africa.
The best way to get from A to B.
I've seen many trucks overturned because of heavy and uneven loads. This truck still has some room on the roof for a few more passengers.

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

for quality time with my Mom

that the weekend is over; I've had worse, but those were before I quit drinking

that 3 years ago I found a Higher Power to guide me

for a reminder that I don't need to be a victim any more but I can always volunteer (lots of work to do on this one)

that recovery allows me to recognize my part in every situation that affects my life

for all of your wonderful comments on yesterday's post

for a couple of well-timed phone calls I received

that pause when agitated came in real handy for this guy yesterday and it seems to have happened without having to think about it

Two little words that can make the difference: START NOW.

It occurs to me that SOMEBODY is coming up on his AA birthday. We can get pretty wacky leading up to those. This too shall pass.

I lived in Haiti for seven years. There, the taxis are pickup trucks with benches in the bed, and the bed is then covered by the an upside-down bed liner, to create a canopy. We had a saying/joke about these taxis, which the Haitians call tap-taps:

Q: How many people can you fit into a tap-tap?

A: At least one more.

Wow, the fact that I do not have to be transported in that fashion is most definitely something to be grateful about.

Peace,

Hi. I'm not in AA anymore, since everyone agreed that after 1 or 2 drinks, they could not stop, and that's not the case for me. I am happily in controll of my occasional 1 or 2. Can I still write to you from time to time, or am I out of the club, as it were? You have some good insites to humanity which I enjoy reading about. Wad'dya say, can I still play?
