Needs & Wants

This is a bar in Galveston, Texas.
While I've been to Galveston hundreds of times, I can't remember ever seeing this place.
But I've known many other ones, just with different names.

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

for a fruitful talk with my sponsor last night -- I needed that

that it's his 6th AA birthday today

that I'm back to feeling normal again today, whatever the hell that is

for a great! Step 9 meeting yesterday -- after completing my initial 9th step with my sponsor and making all the necessary amends, my life changed dramatically as my recovery progressed to a higher level

that I had a physical exam yesterday with my new doctor; pending the blood work results, I'm healthy as an (aging) horse, although ... I am suffering from the initial phases of P.A.D. (click if you're interested).

that Sonny of Lambda Center had successful surgery yesterday and is now recuperating in ICU

that I can fill in for him and make coffee at 6:30am on weekdays until his return

EVERYTHING I NEED IS PROVIDED.
EVERYTHING I WANT I HAVE TO WORK FOR.

Glad you are healthy as a horse. I wonder if the doc mentioned anything about smoking and PAD? OK, I will shut up now. Take Care my friend. Glad you are feeling like yourself again.

MC ... of course she mentioned that if I would quit smoking now, the symptoms would totally disappear. It's reversible (at this stage).

Galveston Texas, boy howdie! I remember tossing this location around with my co-workers b/c NONE of us wanted to go :)!

As for you and your PAD, my thoughts and prayers to you. I wonder if you switched to a complete vegetarian diet would that make a difference? I do know that clogged arteries can only be reversed by a vegetarian diet and not surgery.

I've gone a lot of research in animal versus vegetable proteins. And most men in general would rather die then give up meat.... I'm just sayin'

It is funny where you find the bars. You inspired me to take a picture of one, I will try to do so tonight and post it tomorrow. I like where this one bar is placed, you will see why.

Happy Birthday to your sponsor!
