Getting back on track ...

I live 100 yards from an intersection with a 4-way stop (stop signs on all 4 corners). As I sat outside yesterday afternoon, I watched as 2 drivers both ran their respective stop signs and the cars collided.
The damage was not too serious. But it was so damn avoidable. Why don't people obey the law?

for a well-attended gift-exchange evening at Lambda

that I am taking action today to address some mental and emotional issues

that I got out of my house long enough to go listen to a friend speak for an hour about her Experience, Strength and Hope with depression -- she concentrated on years 15-18 of her recovery

that I was able to uphold all committments over the weekend (except for parties) despite my mental meltdown

that today is moving day for my sister into her new home

that I am not dumb enough to go hiking in the Rocky Mountains in December during a snowstorm and then have to be rescued, wasting hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars

It is a terrible thing that everyone in the world is not as wise as you and I, my friend.

OK, I have too much time on my hands since I came home from work sick - I will soon go to bed... but in the meantime, I am thinking about my friend Daave.

Have you given any thought to the fact that you have just lost a 30+ year relationship? I know you say you are just a non-smoker now, but really, that is HUGE!!! HUGE! HUGE! Your old friend nicotene isn't there to soothe the savage beast within anymore. I know I found myself having all kinds of feelings after I quit.

Go easy on yourself. And sorry to leave a ridiculously long comment. I am sick. I can't help it.

i think those that don't obey the law think the law doesn't apply to them.

i thought the same thing about the hikers, every year some crazy person does it. makes. no. sense. to. me. but i just bet they don't understand alcoholism either?

i agree with mc, quitting smoking opens up all them worms. so here's a hug ((((((((dave))))))))))

Well I am sure many of us are guilty of this many times Espicially when we were active in drinking.

You have some drama going on around your hood. I remember the young gal that crashed.
