Changes

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

that I don't have hangovers anymore, nor do I have to keep a mental inventory of how much beer is in the fridge

I don't have to concern myself with where I'm going to buy beer at 9 o'clock in the morning and I don't have to wonder what time I'll start drinking rum this afternoon

that I can drive anywhere I need to go at night without worrying about getting caught

that I don't go to the bar every day/night and wonder what I said or did last night to someone that might have hurt or offended them

that I don't have to keep notes at night so I can have a reminder tomorrow about what I said I'd do for you

that I am no longer identified by what bars I go to

that I am much more at ease with being me instead of who you want me to be

that my program of recovery is one of diminishing addictions

Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

I thought you still had beer in the fridge.

I was thinking yesterday about the driving and not fearing being caught. Snowy's inspection had expired and I had thoughts of waiting to have him inspected. Then it occured to me really quickly that I have to have integrity even in something as simple as having the car inspected.

no longer identified by what bars I go to! I love it, right on the nose... I hadn't thought about that in ages! One of the things I loved about living in Houston was the lack of zoning. That made for some really kool clubs down in the Montrose area as I recall... Boy, those were some good times, followed closey by some simply horrendous times. Thanks for the flashback!

Great gratitude list...some great reminders there. I love that quote by St. Francis....I might have to "borrow" it from ya. Thanks for sharing.

And in Colorado, on Saturday you have to make sure you have enough booze for Sunday - that is a very tricky thing.

Thanks for the reminder :)
