Gratitude Memorial

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

that Mom got the opportunity to visit her former home Saturday for the last time before it sells later this week

for her neighbors who came to say hello to her (they've been friends since the 1940's)

for all the recovering alcoholics who celebrated May birthdays at Lambda on Saturday -- 28 people with a total of 254 years of sobriety -- they provide so much inspiration to me

that sponsee's increase the quality of my recovery ten-fold

that my sponsor knows what I need when I need it and when I do what he asks I get it (English translation coming soon)

that when I go to a meeting when I'd rather stay home is when I hear something I really need to hear (funny how that works)

that I've never spent a full day in jail

for the new topic on SOBRIETY SOCIETY. Stop by for a visit and a share. You'll be glad you did. I Promise.

for all of the soldiers who have given so much, so many times, so that we can sit here in comfort

That is so cool that your mom has been in the same neighborhood for so long. I am hoping I can set those roots in here. Being such the typical alki we have moved and moved and moved some more. We have been in this town for about seven years now and two in this house. Roots are a good thing to have.

Also ~ the celebration must have been great. 28 people that must be a pretty big meeting? Very cool. I love hearing things like that. I went to a BB anniversary meeting a few years back and they had five speakers with over 50 years each. I got to talk to a couple of them. It was wonderful.

Happy Memorial Day,
G~

28 people taking cakes, WOWSERS. What miracles to see.

Waiting for the english translation. I think I got it.

SC, that would be one giant sheet cake instead of 28 cakes. That is a California tradition I think.
