The Total Entertainment Package

SHORT RANTINGS
Two things that have always bothered me.
I don't like it when someone asks me what I am thinking about or what is on my mind. To me, that question is way too personal. My mind is often the only private place I have and for someone to try to invade it makes me very uncomfortable. So please don't ever ask me what I am thinking about.

I also very much dislike it when someone calls me on the phone and asks me what I am doing. IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS what I am doing. If you called me just to learn what I am doing, you need to get a life. If you called me for another reason, then why are you aksing me what I am doing and what will you do with that information? I guess I'm a very private kinda guy.

'nuff said.

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

for the title of this post. I came up with that phrase years ago when working in West Africa. One sees so many things there that one would not see anywhere else. The experiences are unmatchable. I always referred to life in Africa as The Total Entertainment Package. I may use the term again here; don't be surprised. In fact, there may even be a test at the end of the year.

that my entire environment is part of The Total Entertainment Package

for those who lead by example

for the wisdom to know the difference (occasionally)

by staying sober, so many thoughts can take on new meaning

that I go to meetings to get my AA batteries charged

for the great lessons in patience that are given to me every day

that I can learn so much from people I don't like (see RANTINGS)

How rare and wonderful is that flash of a moment when we realize we have discovered a friend.

Hi dave.....whatcha doin?
Sometimes an AA meeting is totally entertaining. Hell, I've wanted popcorn and coke at a Group Conscious Meeting. Have a good Tuesday.
I'll be pondering all day about what you're thinking.

I have been known to call and ask 'what are you doing?' because I don't want to interrupt something important. I guess instead I should inquire if it is a convenient time for one to talk. So, excuuuuuuuuuuuse me.

I have also seen your mind at work and would never ask what you are thinking, I just don't want to go there.

If they ask the question, then they get an answer. Sometimes it's not what they want to hear.

cool. i totally agree.
I have no tolerance for gratuitous curiosity, and I make that clear to people who ask questions with no purpose other than idle curiosity. I have strict boundaries regarding personal information. its not a ''free for all'. I do not see ? pointless self disclosure as a form of honesty. I must admit, that coming from a small town where curtain twitching was the main form of entertainment, that my dislike of noseyness stems back from that time. I have never particurlaly wanted to know what my neighbours were doing and could never understand why they seemed so preoccupied with other peoples lives. heheh see? you've got me ranting now!
have a nice monday daave!
