just in time

I have been a car nut since my earliest memories.
Growing up in the 60's was a fine era to be a car nut and an adolescent. I recently bought this somewhat rare automobile as it was one of my favorites way back when. It is a 1967 Ford Thunderbird, fordor with suicide doors.

I have had some difficulties getting it to this point. I imported it from a seller in Canada and had it shipped down to Texas. It's been in the mechanics shop for the past 3 weeks just getting prepared for inspection. That's all done and it's now what is termed a daily driver. As with any older mechanical item, it will always need maintenance and repairs. Of course, I can say the same thing about myself.

todAAy i AAm grAAteful & thAAnkful

for the Step 3 meeting yesterday morning -- it was just what I needed to carry me through the day

that my major turning point was 1715 days ago and occurred just when I needed it

that I am not a government bureaucrat

that I watched The Steve Miller Band on PBS last night -- great stuff!!

that my new, old car is finally on the road

Joy is the simplest form of gratitude.

Yay! I've been eager to see pictures. I loved these when I was a kid, especially the 4-door models.

If anyone asks if you are the original owner, slap them. You can also do a 10th step afterwards.

Cool car. I like it. I'm glad that I'm not a bureaucrat too. What a waste of a life.

I would love to have a replica of my 1967 Mustang. A woman killed it on my way to work at Burger Chef when I was a teenager. I had just filled it up with gas (a whole $5) and there was a large bag of good pot in the little "garage" door in the console. So and I seriously thought about going to the wrecker yard to retrieve what was rightfully ours. I think I was more upset about the bag than the fact my car was totaled, not to mention that I could have been seriously hurt since I was NOT wearing my seat belt. I told my Dad I was and he bragged about it for years. I was in my 30's before I finally told him I was not wearing my seat belt. He got mad at me!

i love that car, is it the one with the turn signals that don't blink all together but in sequence across the taillight? and suicide doors are my favorite, I've always wanted a 63 lincoln towncar convertible... well, and a pink jackie suit for halloween!!

I have always loved T-Birds. Have owned 59'60'61'63'64' and a 67' like yours. It would be nice to have them today. That would almost be as good as any 401k. Yours is a
very nice one. The 67 I had was black with a red interior and I bought it when I was sober about 4 years from a State Patrolmen. Sold it 6 weeks later and doubled my money.I still say it was the only car I ever owned that I made money on. The guys that I would go have coffe with after meetings called it the pimp-mobile.

Yours sure is pretty, I would have gladly driven it down to TExas for you. My personal favorite would be a 57' just have not made it to that point yet.
