Out of this World

Congratulations to NASA for a successful launch and return to space Tuesday. Revised safety measures and the addition of dozens of high-speed and long-range cameras to monitor the proceedings should give the engineers a little breathing room.

But nothing can be taken for granted. It's all man-made technology and is subject to man-made mistakes.

Yes, this IS rocket science.

I was holding my breath yesterday hoping that they would go ahead with the launch. I'm so happy they made it up! Cool new cameras too!

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that we (humans) are not as smart as we used to be. I mean, we figured out how to get to the moon back in the 60's and it was downhill after that. Maybe all of our dependence on computers has lessened our ability to figure things out or come up with solutions to problems. Or maybe it's just me.

Also, they don't seem to be to worried about the debris that fell off during the launce. This is the same thing that caused the fatal damage in the last shuttle disaster. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.
